This weekend, we finish our 2020 - 2021 FaithWorks year by concluding a three week series on the Parable of the Lost (Prodigal) Son. It is a beautiful and surprising tale of God’s overflowing, generous mercy and love. First allow us to share this:
First a note of thanks.
.
After the video, discuss the painter's choices regarding the Father.
Each week, we have offered a new video retelling the parable.
Please be watching and discussing all the choices that the father has made in this story. (Watch that the father go out to both the Lost Son as well as the Older brother. Why?)
After considering Nouwen's vision of the placement of the Father's hand and hearing the scriptural context of the Lost Son following the lost coin and lost sheep...
How do you view God now? Is it differently? Why? Why not?
Finally, listen and watch this meditation on the Parable of the Lost Sheep.
Allow your imagination to consider this parable, its meaning for you a well as for your relationship with a loving and merciful God.
Please set aside the evening of Sunday, March 21 for this event. Watch this space on the bulletin as well as our e-newsletters for more details as we look towards the future of youth ministry in our parish community.
