This weekend, we are in the middle of our 2020 - 2021 FaithWorks year-end with a three week series on the Parable of the Lost (Prodigal) Son. It is a beautiful and surprising tale of God’s overflowing, generous mercy and love. First allow us to again share this:
Great. The Older Brother on the right is depicted as wearing the same red as his father What other choices did the painter make in illustrating this moment with the Older brothers during the return of the Lost Son.?
Each week, we will offer a new video retelling the parable. Again, we ask you to pay attention to the context of when and where this story is told.
What do you think are the motivations of the Older Brother?
So much of our life seems to get complicated by how we feel included or excluded as well as how we choose to engage or withdrawal. Is this in your experience as well? How? What part of this parable was possibly directed to the judge-y Pharisees? How?
watch to video to understand more. Please set aside the evening of Sunday, March 21 for this event. RSVP for this important planning meeting as we begin to look toward 2021-2011.
